Love Is Blind’s Morrey Breaks Down His Decision to Walk Away From Season 11: ‘It Gets F***ing Real’ (Exclusive)

Love Is Blind season 11’s Morrey Eglin is opening up about why he chose not to continue the experiment after his connection with Sarah Williams fizzled out.

“I fell for Sarah, and I had no other connection as strong with her,” Morrey, 32, exclusively tells Us. “And if it wasn’t her, it was nobody there.”

Fans met Morrey and Sarah, 34, when the latest season of the reality dating series hit Netflix on Wednesday, October 14. Though the pair appeared to form a close bond, Sarah ultimately decided to pursue a relationship with John Shannon, getting engaged sight unseen.

Morrey admits he “wasn’t too caught off guard” by the change in Sarah’s feelings.

“She genuinely cared what I had to say. … I said things to her that I’ve never said to a girl. You know what I mean?” he says of the healthcare program manager. “Relationship-wise or anything like that, where she really just was a safe space for me. And I do genuinely think she cared about me and wants the best for me. And I want the same for her. I think she’s brilliant and has so many great qualities and made the best decision for herself. And I really just wanted her to be happy.”

The bouncer also explored a potential romance with Benita Paloja — who he claimed love-bombed him in the pods — but he says there was no comparison between the two connections.

“I had feelings for Benita, but they were never what it was for Sarah,” he tells Us, encouraging fans to give Benita, 31, “a little grace” for her behavior on the show. “[People] just see what they’re seeing on their television, where there’s so many things edited down and where emotions are really heightened. And I think Benita, like, is awesome.”

Though the pair have “connected” again since leaving the pods, Morrey doesn’t see a romantic relationship in their future.

“I don’t think we’re right for each other, but definitely a friendship,” he says. “I consider her a friend, and if she ever needed me, I’d be there. But I don’t think we’re really compatible.”

Morrey admittedly wasn’t expecting much from the Love Is Blind experience going into the pods, but his perspective changed after a conversation with creator Chris Coelen.

“[He] was like, ‘Hey, you should think this is bulls*** right now,’ and walked us through the process of like, ‘Hey, you should be thinking this is crazy,'” he recalls. “And I was like, ‘S***.’ It was like a pin hit the balloon, and the tension kind of came out of the room. ‘Cause I was looking around, I thought you guys were all idiots. I thought I was the only dude who was like, ‘This is crazy.’ And everybody’s thinking that. And then you get in there, and it gets f***ing real.”

While Morrey didn’t find his perfect match in the pods, he had nothing but kind words for the “great cast of girls” featured on season 11. As for whether he has his eye on any of them now?

“There genuinely wasn’t a bad person on this cast. I fully believe that,” he says. “And f*** it. You know what? I’d date [them] all.”
