Right back at ya! It’s been months since Demi Lovato dissed Mariah Carey on social media, but the diva is finally fighting back.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, December 18, Carey played a game of “Plead the Fifth.” Watch what she said in the video above!
After dodging questions about her breakup with ex-fiancé James Packer, and her new reported romance with backup dancer Bryan Tanaka, she was asked about Lovato’s controversial comments last summer.
“Demi Lovato, I didn’t know this, she kind of shaded you on social media,” the host said. “She made assumptions about Ariana Grande, and she said, ‘Mariah’s a legend and she’s so talented but she disses people. It’s nasty the way she treats Jennifer [Lopez].’ What would you say to Demi?”
Carey — who has famously insists she “doesn’t know” Jennifer Lopez, despite the Latina singer’s insistence that they’ve met “many times” — didn’t hold back.
”I don’t know her either and so I wouldn’t say anything to her,” she said about Lovato, 24. “She should come up, introduce herself to me, say, ‘Here’s my opinion, what do you think about it?’ That’s how you handle s–t, OK?”
Earlier in the interview Cohen also asked his guest if she knew Ariana Grande.
“No,” she said matter of factly. “I don’t know … Honestly, I’m not familiar. I listen to hip-hop more than I listen to pop music.”
