‘Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars’ Recap: Jade and Tanner Cry and Fight After Therapy Goes Wrong

They say there’s a calm before the storm, but not on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. On the Friday, October 14, episode of the relationship-rehab show, Mob Wives star Karen Gravano hit a rough patch with her boyfriend, Storm — and things only got bumpier from there. As they sat at a table with the rest of their housemates, Storm announced that he loved his daughter more than he loved Karen, and that his daughter loved him more than she would ever love her husband. (He may be sorely disappointed down the road, but that’s another show.)

Storm insisted he didn’t even need to be at Boot Camp because he didn’t “give a f–k.” A disheartened Karen sighed, “This issue never gets solved.” Apparently, the issue is that her boyfriend doesn’t care about her … which does seem like it would be a tough one to fix.

Tanner Fans the Flames for Margeaux

Meanwhile, Margeaux found herself stuck in a love triangle with her girlfriend, Merika, and her husband, Nikko. Merika couldn’t understand why Margeaux hadn’t filed her divorce papers yet, and Nikko was clearly there to win back her heart. All of this left Merika (understandably) on edge.

Tanner Tolbert suggested Margeaux and Nikko sign their divorce papers as soon as possible, noting that they could even have them delivered to Boot Camp. “Don’t tell me what to do!” Margeaux shouted back at the Bachelor in Paradise star. “Just because I’m still married to him doesn’t mean I’m a bad girlfriend,” she added. Then she started crying and stormed out.

Nikko recounted their worst fight, which happened when he found out she was cheating on him. Merika jumped in and said that was a “f–king lie.” Pretty much everyone (besides Merika) said Merika couldn’t see what was right in front of her — that Margeaux still had feelings for Nikko.

Tanner Fails at Death

Well, sorta. In an exercise designed to force spouses to realize what they had been taking for granted, Jade Roper was in a body bag, pretending to be dead, while Tanner read a letter that contained his (theoretical) last words to her. Besides calling her lazy and worthless, Tanner said he didn’t love her “as a partner” in their marriage.

Despite the intensity of moment, however, Tanner hardly showed any emotion, bringing Jade to tears. “I crave a deeper connection,” she said to Dr. V, who then turned to Tanner and told him, “If this doesn’t change, she’s going to leave.”

Tanner apologized for not talking about his emotions more, but noted that this felt “a little ultimatum-y.” He and Jade then headed off to the benches to watch the other couples do the exercise, and they fought the whole way to their seats.

Storm Looks at Karen in a Body Bag and Says, “Whatever”

Perhaps the only person who reacted worse than Tanner was Storm. When confronted with Karen in the body bag, he said, “This is bogus.” Dr. V asked him to read the letter containing his final words, and he said, “It’s not going to happen.” Pressed more by the doctor, Storm rolled his eyes and added, “Whatever.”

Karen said she was used to going up against a brick wall. “If you love me, just tell me you love me,” Karen said to her boyfriend. When he didn’t respond, Dr. V asked him if he did love her, and he just laughed. Later, during their video confessional, they bickered even more. “I don’t care what your feelings are. I don’t care!” Storm snapped at Karen, who looked about ready to give up.

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

The remaining three couples seemed to actually absorb something from the activity. Jim Marchese admitted he blamed his wife, Amber, for getting cancer twice because he believed her lifestyle choices had led to the disease.

Keke Wyatt broke down crying as she read the mean things she said to her husband, Michael Ford, on a daily basis. She apologized and told him how much she loved him, and they seemed better than ever.

Things were still messy among Margeaux, Merika and Nikko, but it’s hard to expect they would straighten this out in a mere two days. Nikko did, however, openly wonder if his lack of listening to Margeaux had led to their separation in the first place. In fact, Margeaux actually seemed to be getting less sure of who she wanted to be in a relationship with. In fact, she admitted, “Yesterday, my mind was 100 percent made up, and today I am just completely confused.”

The night ended with Karen and Storm fighting so loudly everyone in the house could hear. “I’m going to tell you one more time,” he said as he wagged his finger in Karen’s face. “Talk to me like that again in front of these people, and you’re going to have the worst time of your life.”
