Meghan Trainor has cancelled her Get in Girl Tour two months before she was set to hit the road, shocking fans.
“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the Get in Girl Tour,” Trainor, 32, announced via her Instagram Story on Thursday, April 16.
The musician explained, “Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now.”
Trainor — who welcomed her and husband Daryl Sabara’s third child, daughter Mickey, in January via surrogate — shared that she needs to “be home and present for each and all of them at this time.” (The couple also share sons Riley, 5, and Barry, almost 3.)
“I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans, and I am so sorry to let you down,” Trainor continued. “But I know this is the right decision for my family and me right now.”
The Grammy winner concluded, “I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record. I’m so proud of it and I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always.”
Trainor’s surprise cancellation comes less than two months before she was set to hit the road and begin her tour on June 12 for a show in Clarkston, Michigan. The tour was originally scheduled to run through August 15, concluding with a show in Los Angeles.
The singer initially announced in November 2025 that she was gearing up to go on the road after revealing that same month that her seventh studio album, Toy With Me, was in the works.
While the tour is no more, fans can listen to Toy With Me on Friday, April 24, when it is officially released. (Trainor also released the official setlist on Thursday, hours before she canceled her tour.)
Trainor exclusively told Us Weekly in her April cover story, which hit newsstands on Wednesday, April 15, that her upcoming album was partly inspired by the backlash she received from losing weight using a GLP-1.
“I’ve been working so hard on my health and wellness and taking care of myself, and what comes with that is looking different,” she shared with Us. “I was finally feeling better in my body and really loving wearing clothes. I went to the Billboard Women in Music Awards [in 2025] and got the most hate ever just on my appearance.”
Trainor recalled receiving the criticism and feeling like it was a “slap in the face,” but she used the negative comments to fuel her track “Still Don’t Care.”
She also told Us that several of her new songs, including “Get in Girl” and “Shimmer” were inspired by her baby girl, Mickey.
“It’s so scary right now, and I don’t feel good about being here as a girl — how am I going to bring a girl here?” Trainor confessed. “I wrote these songs for my baby girl, for when she’s in middle school, or when she goes through her first breakup, and yeah, when she needs to shimmer and feel confident.”
