If only Brangelina hosted! Get out the knives and fancy suits, because Mr. and Mrs. Smith is coming to a TV near you. It was announced on Tuesday, June 23, that a reality series inspired by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's 2005 comedy is in the works.
New Regency and 3 Ball Entertainment are behind the new competition series, which will film married couples going head-to-head in intense games. The companies also produced the on-screen blockbuster.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith centered on John (Pitt) and Jane (Angelina), a married couple who are secretly assassins working for separate agencies and ordered to kill each other. The actors fell in love on set (with Pitt married to Jennifer Aniston at the time), and later married in 2014 with their six children in attendance.
The action flick made more than $478 million worldwide. It also starred Vince Vaughn, Adam Brody, Kerry Washington, Jennifer Morrison, Michelle Monaghan, Keith David, and Chris Weitz.
