While The Fault in Our Stars took home the most awards, there stars and many outstanding moments kept viewers glued to their televisions screens during the live broadcast.

1. Amy Schumer Hosts MTV Movie Awards With a Memorable Opening Number
Funny lady! The comedienne took to the stage and made fun of a range of hot topics including Hillary Clinton, Kevin Hart, and even, her own obscurity in the opening moments of the awards show. “Half of you don’t know who I am and half of you think I’m Meghan Trainor,” she said.
She also made fun of Harrison Ford and his recent plane crash. “This is going to be the party of the year,” she told the crowd. “I just hope Harrison Ford doesn’t crash it.”
All the feels! The Fault in Our Stars won big on Sunday night, starting with Shailene Woodley taking home the Golden Popcorn for Best Female Performance. During her speech, the actress honored TFIOS author John Green for his beautiful work.
“There’s not one single demographic that won’t affected by the wisdom and the compassion and the beauty that he laces into every single thing that he does in his life,” she noted. “So, John Green: Beyond the Fault in Our Stars, I just want to thank you for being the human that you are every single day.”
Later, the drama picked up the Best Movie of the Year honor, along with Best Kiss and the Trailblazer Award.

“Get back here!” the star, wearing a cleavage-baring dress, told the hunky actors. “Guys don’t go over there! We aren’t gonna get a little dance number?”
4. Robert Downey Jr. Accepted the Generation Award
The Avengers actor was honored by his fellow superhero costars on Sunday night, when Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner presented Downey Jr., with the Generation Award.
“In the 34 years that have passed since the birth of MTV, I’ve grown up, I’ve struggled, I’ve failed,” he told the crowd in his poignant reflection. “I’ve partied way too much. I’ve squandered, resisted, repented… I begged for second chances, and literally clawed my way to the top.”
“Dream big, work hard, keep your nose clean,” he advised the audience. “Be of service, and yes, because you can — define your generation.”
Aca-amazing! The Bellas reunited on Sunday, with onstage appearances from Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, and Pitch Perfect 2 newcomer Hailee Steinfeld. A preview from the wildly anticipated sequel was then revealed to the audience, featuring an impressive ’90s hip-hop-themed battle.
