No sore losers here! The powers that be at ABC chose The Bachelorette's most recent second runner-up, Ben Higgins, to be the newest star of The Bachelor. That means two-time Bachelorette runner-up Nick Viall is solo once again, but he's no sore loser.
Kaitlyn Bristowe's other castoff opened up to Us Weekly about his former romantic rival being chosen as the newest Bachelor, and he had only nice things to say.
"I think ABC made a great choice," he tells Us Weekly exclusively of the decision. "I think he's one of the few people that actually lives up to the hype. He's a very sweet guy and now that he's the leading guy I hope we get to see the other great sides of Ben. Ben has an edge and I hope that he shows it!"
For his part, Higgins told Us Weekly at the Bachelorette Men Tell All taping back in July that he understood why Viall returned to the show, and he didn't question his intentions like some other contestants.
"I think when you do this experience, you realize it’s real. It’s not always fun," Higgins dished at the time. "And to do this twice would be really hard, emotionally. I just think that he would have to be legally insane if he thought this was just a cool opportunity to come back and maybe be The Bachelor. That would be a huge risk. So yeah, I think he was here for the 'right reasons.'"
