Paula Abdul is getting back behind the judges' table — for one night only! The former American Idol and X Factor judge will lend her dance expertise to So You Think You Can Dance on Tuesday, July 9, joining fellow pros Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy to critique the top 18 finalists of the hit Fox show.
Sports reporter and Dancing With the Stars alum Erin Andrews will also be on-hand to give her two-cents on the finalists' performances.
Lythgoe could hardly contain his excitement about having Abdul, 51, on the show, calling her "the girl I've waited ten seasons for."
"Thank you all for your birthday Tweets," he wrote to fans on Tuesday. "I don't know what you got for YOUR birthday but I got Erin Andrews, Paula Abdul and Mary Murphy."
Abdul returned the love via Twitter shortly afterword, replying that she was "thrilled to be joining #SYTYCD and I am not kidding!"
Prior to her stints as a judge on American Idol and The X Factor (the TV personality also once guest judged an episode of Dancing With the Stars), Abdul was a renowned choreographer who worked with the likes of Janet Jackson and even created her own reality dance series, CBS's short-lived Live to Dance.
