Rihanna's Diamonds World Tour is off to rough star. The pop star has been forced to cancel her March 10 concert in Boston after contracting laryngitis, Us Weekly has learned. The 25-year-old "Stay" singer was scheduled to perform at TD Garden.
"Unfortunately, following her sold-out concert on Friday, Rihanna has contracted laryngitis and per doctor's instruction is unable to perform this evening," Live Nation said in a statement. The pop star's performance will be rescheduled for a later date.
Rihanna — who kicked off the tour March 8 in Buffalo, New York — is expected to return to the stage in Baltimore March 12. "This is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we've been waiting on this day forever, and I'm hurt that I let you down," she told Boston residents via Twitter. "I hate disappointing people that never ever let me down!! I'm so embarrassed about this! Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!"
The singer recently revealed she's ready to take an extended break in the April issue of ELLE UK. "I will probably have a kid," Chris Brown's girlfriend said of her future plans. "And I'm praying I can go on vacation for a good month. And I'll have set some things up so I don't have to tour for the rest of my life, even though I love touring. I want health and happiness in five years. I want to be healthy and happy."
