Good for Us! Selena Gomez is hard at work on her long-awaited sophomore album, and the former child star debuted the first track off of the record on Monday, June 22.
After spending the last few days hyping "Good For You," Gomez, 22, released the sexy new single in the wee hours of Monday morning. Gomez's BFF Taylor Swift teased the song before its premiere, tweeting, "Guys, on 6/22 @selenagomez is releasing my favorite thing she's ever done. Let's all get READY."
The Wizards of Waverly Place alum showcased a new sound with "Good For You," recruiting celebrated rapper A$AP Rocky for the sultry jam. The star, who recently split from producer Zedd after years of breaking up and getting back together with Justin Bieber, croons about a love interest in the new track.
"'Cause I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh," Gomez sings on a mellow beat. "I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh / Let me show you how proud I am to be yours / Leave this dress a mess on the floor / And still look good for you, good for you, uh-huh."
While Gomez is no longer "looking good" for her "I Want You to Know" collaborator Zedd, the two ended on good terms and the "Clarity" performer celebrated his former flame's new release on Twitter.
Zedd, 25, shared a link to "Good For You" on Monday morning, and tweeted, "YES!!!! Congrats!!!! Proud of you!!! :)"
Gomez, who debuted her first solo studio album in July 2013, is expected to return with her second, currently untitled record later this year. The former Disney star followed Stars Dance with a 2014 compilation album, For You.
