Former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore’s termination letter has been released, shedding light on the school’s investigation into his relationship with a staff member.

In the letter, obtained by the Detroit News on Friday, January 9, the university alleged Moore, 39, “provided untruthful statements during investigative interviews regarding the matter.”

The letter revealed the athletic department received “hotline reports alleging an inappropriate relationship with a staff member,” which the school confirmed via their investigation.

Moore has since admitted to engaging in a years-long relationship with the female staffer. He was fired on December 10.

The letter stated Moore was “not to contact any University employees or student athletes, and you are not to visit any Athletic Department facilities.”

Moore is not eligible for rehire at the University of Michigan, per the letter, and was told to return his iPad, phone and dealer car.

Any personal items in Moore’s office were to be sent to Moore’s home by December 23.

The letter was signed by University of Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel, who fired Moore during a one-on-one meeting in his office.

Shortly after his termination, Moore drove to the home of the female staff member and allegedly barged his way into her apartment

“[The staff member] indicated that she was approximately 5 feet from the door when he made entry,” court records said. “She advised that she began backing up and as he was approaching her. [She] advised that Moore grabbed two knives out of her drawer and pointed them at her, ‘You ruined my life. You ruined my life.’”

Moore allegedly backed the staff member “towards the living room” while holding the knives. Once she successfully contacted her attorney by phone, Moore allegedly “backed up and turned the knives on himself, pointing them at his neck, saying that he was going to kill himself and that she was going to watch.”

Moore was arrested in a nearby church parking lot after fleeing the woman’s apartment.

Moore was charged with one count of third-degree felony home invasion, one count misdemeanor stalking related to a domestic relationship and one count misdemeanor breaking and entering on December 12.

He was released on $25,000 bond and ordered to wear a GPS tracking monitor, in addition to dropping all contact with the staff member.

Moore is next scheduled to appear in court on January 22.

In 911 audio released by TMZ Sports on Thursday, January 8, Moore’s wife, Kelli, said she was concerned about her husband’s welfare after being fired.
