They can dance, but can they judge? Jason Derulo and Paula Abdul joined the judges’ panel for the 12th season of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, and now Us Weekly has the first look at the pair in action.
Derulo and Abdul joined Nigel Lythgoe at the podium as the newest permanent judges on the summer reality competition following the departure of former judge Mary Murphy. Although the newbies had served as guest judges in the past, it’s the “Wiggle” singer’s first permanent reality show post and Abdul’s return to the network after her tenure judging American Idol.
The exclusive sneak peek above — just 15 seconds worth — is the first commercial for the new season, and will air for the first time during the April 8 episode of American Idol. Season 12 of SYTYCD premieres June 1 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
