‘Teen Mom OG’ Recap: Farrah Abraham Slammed at Couples Therapy, Catelynn Lowell Rehab Update

Farrah Abraham and Simon Saran finally hit up a therapist during the Monday, September 19, episode of Teen Mom OG, and they worked through all kinds of issues. And by that we mean Farrah sobbed while Simon sat there in awkward silence. Also noteworthy, Ryan Edwards revealed his plan to crash Maci Bookout‘s wedding, Tyler Baltierra visited Catelynn Lowell in rehab, and Amber Portwood moved into an ultra swanky nabe!

Farrah and Simon Head to Therapy, Farrah Cries, the Earth Is Round, Water Is Wet, Etc.

Hark! There’s a light at the end of the tunnel that is Farrah’s amazingly dysfunctional relationship with Simon! Despite a series of intense feuds that resulted in Farrah kicking her man out of the house (remember when he dared to wear his shoes on her carpet? #TheHorror), the pair sat down for a therapy session with Dr. Jenn Mann of VH1’s Couples Therapy. Her thoughts? That Farrah is pushing Simon away — big time.

“The footage that I have seen of the way you talk to him, no man in his right mind will stick around,” Dr. Jenn told a weepy Farrah. She also advised that the couple stop chatting about their relationship in front of Sophia, and took Simon to task for leading Farrah on with talk of marriage and babies: “When you dangle that carrot and don’t follow through, it’s really hurtful to her.” Fair ’nuff! So, are Farrah and Simon still together? Meh, kinda. Sure, they got a couple’s manicure and chatted about revamping their relationship, but Farrah expressed concern about wasting a year and mused, “It’s so far from where I would like to be, really, in a relationship.” Sad face.

Amber Portwood Buys a New House … Next to a Prosecutor

Amber is moving on up! The former jailbird moved into a brand new house in a super swanky neighborhood with her fiancé, Matt Baier, but had a hard time getting used to her new digs. “I never lived like this when I was little — I was poor. We didn’t have hot water,” she explained. “I feel kinda weird being in this neighborhood, though. I’m not the same as these people. Especially when you’re living across the street from a prosecutor.” Sigh, Amber, always serving the LOLs!

In other news, Gary Shirley whisked his family away for a Florida vacation, and surprised his wife, Kristina, with a beachy vow renewal. Considering they barely exchanged vows the first time ’round, this was a long time coming — and you better believe Kristina cried when Gary cooed, “I wanna thank you so much for being here with us.” (Also cute: Amber’s daughter, Leah, told her stepmom, “You mean everything to me.”)

Ryan Wants to Crash Maci’s Wedding

Maci’s wedding = most dramatic thing ever. In case you forgot, she and Taylor McKinney were originally going to drop a cool $20K on their venue, but changed their minds after realizing it is an insane amount of money to spend. They pretty much spent this entire episode negotiating and being stressed. But good news: The venue cut them a deal, which means their fall wedding is on! So, who’s invited? Well, Maci’s baby daddy, Ryan, for one. Taylor confirmed that his gal’s ex would get an invite, saying, “I think it’s important for Bentley.”

Either way, Ryan joked with his parents about being a flower boy in the wedding, and said, “I’m gonna crash it if I don’t get an invitation.” Please let this dream become a reality.

All About Tyler and Cate’s Emotional Reunion

Tyler visited Catelynn at rehab in Arizona, and despite cameras not being allowed on premises, it was a superemotional trip. Tyler was upfront about how “frazzled and fragile” he’s been feeling, and got a kind reminder from his mom to take care of himself, so he can take care of Cate. He also revealed that Catelynn’s been crying “almost every time I talk to her,” and that she seemed to think he would ditch their marriage. Cate’s therapist theorized that she’s simply experiencing psychological withdrawal from pot, but the good news? Tyler assured Catelynn he’d never leave her. In fact, he straight up said, “I’m never gonna leave you,” so go ahead and start bawling because their love connection is 100 percent the strongest on reality TV.

Tell Us: Speaking of love connections, will Farrah and Simon make it to the alter?

Teen Mom OG airs on MTV Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
