Amber Portwood

Amber Portwood stars on MTV’s hit reality show, Teen Mom OG — alongside Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Farrah Abraham.

Born on May 14, 1990, the high school dropout welcomed daughter Leah in November 2008 with ex-fiancé Gary Shirley. However, the twosomes’ frequent screaming matches and sometimes violent fights led to frequent break-ups and make-ups.

One especially violent fight, in which the aspiring cosmetologist was captured by MTV cameras punching and kicking Shirley, even led Anderson, Indiana police to launch a domestic abuse investigation against her. In December 2010, Portwood was charged with two felony counts of domestic battery, one felony count of neglect of a dependent and one misdemeanor count of domestic battery. She spent one night in jail and was barred from having any contact with Shirley.

The couple officially called it quits after Portwood’s restraining order was lifted in February 2011. In 2015, Portwood accepted the proposal of Matt Baier.
