Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley’s daughter, Leah, is celebrating a major high school moment.
Leah, 17, posed beside a water fountain while dressing up for homecoming, opting to wear a black mini dress and black heels. Leah completed her outfit with soft makeup, styling her straight hair down.
She also snapped pics with her friends, who smiled while wearing black outfits for the occasion.
“Senior hoco!!✨,” Leah captioned the series of snaps via Instagram on Sunday, September 27.
Portwood, 36, and Shirley, 39, welcomed Leah in November 2008. The pair, who got engaged before Leah’s arrival, called it quits in 2011 after documenting their relationship on both 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom OG. Gary has since moved on with wife Kristina Shirley, with whom Leah has spent the majority of her childhood.
In 2025, Leah opened up about her decision to enter therapy amid her distance from her mother.
“I just think I have a lot of, like, issues because of Amber in the experiences I’ve had,” Leah told her dad during an episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. “I want to overcome that so I can be able to forgive her and just move on, and I think that it would help to have someone to guide me on how to forgive someone because it’s hard for me to do that.”
Portwood, for her part, has also been candid about wanting to rebuild a relationship with her daughter.
“With my daughter, she doesn’t want to be around me,” Amber said on a separate episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter that year. “I’ve never been a mom that didn’t care. Just a f***ed up mom.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Leah reflected on not being sure when she realized her mom “wasn’t there” and claimed to have “abandonment issues from her not being around.”
“I do know that there’s a lot of things going on that makes it difficult for her to be able to be there for me,” Leah said in a rare confessional. “I feel like it does affect me every day because I’m always scared that Kristina is going to leave me. I’m always scared that people are just going to leave me for no reason.”
Gary, meanwhile, shared his support as Leah began speaking to a professional and assured her that she could keep her therapy sessions private.
“I just want you to have somebody to talk to that’s a safe space,” he said. “I want you to be happy. I love you.”
