‘Teen Mom OG’ Recap: Amber Portwood Threatens Her Fiancé After Learning About Alleged Secret Children

Seven kids and counting! Amber Portwood found out about her fiancé Matt Baier‘s alleged fleet of secret children during the Monday, February 1, episode of Teen Mom OG, and she almost quit filming due to #BabyDaddyDrama. Meanwhile, Tyler Baltierra worried that Catelynn Lowell was suffering from postpartum depression, while Ryan Edwards spent the episode proving that he’s capable of being a great dad. You know, when he isn’t busy chopping wood in a corner while sulking.

Does Catelynn Have the Baby Blues?

Where’s Nova?! Tyler’s mom noticed that her granddaughter was spending a lot of nights away from home, leading her to think that Catelynn might have postpartum depression. “Is Catelynn going through some kind of postpartum or something, Tyler?” his mom asked. “Because I don’t understand why you guys don’t have the baby as much as you guys are supposed to have it.”

Catelynn denied suffering from postpartum depression, even after Tyler dragged her to see a therapist, saying, “That’s just ridiculous, I think. No, I definitely don’t have postpartum. I would know, for sure. I’ve struggled with depression — I know what that feels like. And I’m on antidepressants. Sometimes, I just need a break.”

Tyler ended up agreeing to spend more time with Nova, so hopefully Cate gets the break she deserves.

Farrah Stages Emergency Family-Therapy Session

The family feud is over! Despite accusing her mom and dad of plotting against her, Farrah Abraham decided to let both her parents take care of Sophia while she was in England. Things reached a breaking point when Farrah fumed, “It seems like there’s something plotted behind the scenes against me, so when I’m gone, people can just do whatever the f–k they want,” causing her dad to say she treats him like a child.

Farrah ended up summoning her therapist for an emergency meeting, who served some epic real talk: “I wonder if your life would be a little easier, for all involved, if you didn’t have such high standards. A more realistic set of expectations. … They are forfeiting jobs and moving across the country to support you. Why can you not focus on that?” Amen, right?

Ryan and Maci Get Their BFF On

Reunited, and it feels so good! Ryan Edwards and Maci Bookout got along better than ever during their son Bentley’s birthday party, and it’s all because Ryan is single and ready to mingle. “He’s completely different when he has a girlfriend,” Maci said, later complaining, “We take a family picture of the three of us every year on [Bentley’s] birthday, and we don’t have one from last year because Shelby wouldn’t let him take a picture, and got mad about it. We just need to find Ryan a girlfriend who’s cool. He can’t pick her.”

Sounds good, but spoiler alert: Ryan was actually still kinda-sorta-maybe dating his ex when this episode filmed. “I still talk to my ex,” he admitted to a friend while consuming an enormous hamburger. “It’s kinda up in the air man — I dunno. I’m definitely more happy with her. I’m not telling anyone I’m talking to her ’cause I think it’ll just cause drama.” Bless his heart — does Ryan not know he’s on a TV show?

So, Gary Thinks Matt Has a Secret Posse of Kids

What is Matt Baier hiding? Gary Shirley decided to do some sleuthing (he’s basically Teen Mom OG’s version of Sherlock Holmes) and discovered that Matt allegedly has not two, but seven children — from five different women! “He moved to Indiana for some girl, but he has seven kids at home that he probably ain’t seeing like he should,” Gary complained. “And then he wants to come and father my kid? Man, come on now.”

Gary ended up confronting Amber about Matt’s penchant for popping out kids, and she was equal parts furious and shocked. “Do you know how many kids he has?” Gary asked Amber while her man waited in the car. Her response? “Two.”

When Gary showed Amber paperwork saying otherwise, she immediately jumped to Matt’s defense, saying, “You should talk to me, or you should talk to him before you do something like this in front of the cameras, so everybody in the world will think something else. Now I’m gonna have to prove, in front of millions of people. This is ridiculous.”

Despite defending her guy, Amber seemed to have doubts when she got back in the car with a super cagey Matt. Not only did he refuse to talk, he ended up kicking MTV out of the house, yelling, “Get your s–t, and get the f–k out of my house. Get your s–t, and don’t come back.”

Are Amber and Matt Over?

MTV aired audio from inside Amber’s house after cameras left, and she definitely didn’t let Matt off easy. “If you have that many kids, then you’re a deadbeat father. I don’t know about half that s–t. I thought I did,” she said. “F–k with me, and watch what happens to your life.”

The next day, Teen Mom OG’s co-executive producer showed up to mediate, and Amber broke down crying. “I wanna believe the man who I’ve been with,” she explained. “But if it’s true, then I’m just gonna look like a naive little girl, and it just breaks my heart. ‘Cause I don’t love a lot of people, and I love him. But if it is true, I’m gonna feel really stupid.”

Amber admitted that there’s only so much drama she can take, saying, “I’m breaking. I just want my kid, and I just wanna be happy with her. I don’t even care about anything else.” Meanwhile, Matt sat quietly stroking his Chihuahua.
