What Happened in ‘The Boys’ Season 5, Episode 4?

Following his largely one-sided fight with Homelander in episode 3, Ryan awakened in Butcher’s care. However, the teenage Supe was less than impressed with Butcher’s bedside manner and fled the Boys’ hideout. Meanwhile, Homelander all but forgot his son now that he thinks he’s a god. Firecracker tried to hide her alarm and discomfort when Homelander told her to sell his divinity to the American public.
Starlight arrived at the home of her estranged father, Rick January, and discovered that he had married a woman named Courtenay, with whom he had a teenage son, Mason. While Rick and Courtenay showed Starlight love and acceptance, Mason turned out to be a true believer in Homelander, who turned in his half-sister to the police. But when a local cop investigated Mason’s claim, Rick talked him out of pursuing Starlight. Mason half-heartedly apologized to Starlight before she left, but the heroine was moved to tears after seeing the family she could have had.
Homelander and Soldier Boy converged at Fort Harmony to find V1 at the same time that the Boys were already there looking for it. Frenchie noted with growing horror that something at Fort Harmony was making the Boys turn on each other. Even Kimiko angrily snapped at Frenchie before she, Butcher, M.M. and Hughie fought each other. Soldier Boy lured Homelander into a potentially fatal trap, which Butcher greatly enjoyed. Yet it didn’t dull Homelander’s God Complex.
Frenchie found Soldier Boy and tricked him into killing Quinn, the incapacitated Supe whose powers caused the Boys’ bad behavior. The team withdrew from Fort Harmony armed with the knowledge that Bombsight stole the remaining V1. Homelander eventually escaped from the trap, but spared Soldier Boy’s life. Sometime later, Kimiko and Frenchie wondered where their relationship stood while Starlight reunited with Hughie. On television, Oh Father followed Firecracker’s blueprint and proclaimed Homelander as God’s prophet.
What’s Going to Happen in ‘The Boys’ Season 5?
We’re going to see how far Homelander can take his newfound thirst for divinity. He can only become immortal if he finds the V1 and takes it for himself. As for the Boys, they’ve got their work cut out for them now that they don’t have the Supe-killing virus or the V1.
