The Voice’s 10 Weirdest Moments: Blake Shelton Uses Megaphone to Tell Miley Cyrus to ‘Shut Up’!

Smackdown! Alicia Keys and Blake Shelton went head-to-head for the first time ever on The Voice's Tuesday, September 27, episode. Plus, Blake mocked Miley Cyrus for her loud voice, and all of the judges made fun of Adam Levine's outfit choice. The claws were out, and the judges were not leaving empty-handed!

1. Blake brings gifts.

Blake decided a welcome gift was in order for Miley and Alicia, considering it's their first season on the show, and brought them a package filled with Blake Shelton fan merchandise. He gave them matching plaid onesies that Miley will definitely Instagram photos of herself wearing while laying in bed with her dogs. He also thought Alicia would be into the hat that read “I [heart] B.S.” since she usually wears headwear. How thoughtful.

2. Miley won’t "shut up"!

Miley’s strategy for getting Aaron Gibson to pick her as a judge over Alicia and Blake was to speak as long and loudly as possible. She repeatedly told him how much she'd take care of him, and Blake literally had to pull out a megaphone to speak over her. “I don’t even think this is going to break through the tornado that is Miley Cyrus’ voice,” the country star quipped.

At one point, Blake even put on “Miley-proof” earmuffs to block out the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s voice. “I can already tell we’re going to have to change the name of the show to Miley’s Voice,” Blake said. It’s pretty obvious that Blake doesn’t think Miley has “a way with words.”

3. A onsie model — and former Broadway performer — wins over Alicia and Blake.

Gabriel Violett’s current job consists of trying on adult onesies to test size and fit, but that’s not the only interesting career on his résumé! He was previously a cast member in the original production of Spring Awakening on Broadway. His Auto-Tuned-like voice led him to his new coach, Alicia Keys. Maybe he’ll try on her new Blake Shelton onesie for her to make sure it fits just right.

4. Alicia, Adam and Miley all team up against Blake!

Throughout the show, the three coaches took turns mocking Blake’s song “Honey Bee.” “I’ll be your honey mustard,” Miley sang to Blake at one point. Blake tried to play nice at first by saying he wrote that song about Alicia, but then he turned sour and said, "That song bought my ranch — now y’all are bastardizing it." Don’t be sassy, Blake!

5. First Alicia and Blake showdown.

Alicia and Blake fought over country singer Josh Gallagher, who had Blake written all over him. Miley tried to persuade him to pick Alicia by saying, "Some things are too country, maybe like Blake.” In the end, Josh went with the country coach, and Blake didn’t waste time gloating about it. “It’s adorable that Alicia thought she had a chance,” Blake said. Rude!

6. Blake jacks Miley’s style.

Blake walked into the room full of judges wearing a jean jacket adorned with flowers, just like Miley’s ensemble. However, when Miley took her jacket off to display her flowered brassiere, Blake couldn’t compete. “Mine are a little hairy,” Blake remarked about his chest. Ew! It seems like Gwen Stefani’s bold style is rubbing off on him, but maybe he should stick with blue jeans and flannel shirts.

7. Miley and Alicia get behind the mic to fight over a high schooler!

Darby Walker won over both Miley and Alicia with her edgy sound. Miley got on stage and sang “Jolene” with Darby to try to prove that the two had similar voices and get the girl to join her team. Miley even jumped around and danced to try to entertain the contestant, which gave us major “Hoedown Throwdown” vibes. Alicia wasn’t backing down without a fight, though. After Darby admitted to loving Alicia’s song “No One” throughout her childhood, Alicia decided the appropriate retaliation would be to sing it along with the young artist. In the end, Miley’s dance moves and singing won her the singer. Yee-haw!

8. Blake reunites with an old friend.

Tuesday’s episode of The Voice was not Austin Allsup’s first time meeting Blake. The two played a show together several years back, and once Blake turned his chair around, he totally remembered. “You don’t go out much — you remember everything,” Miley said to Blake. What a burn. In the end, Blake was the only one who turned around, so the two got to catch up. How cute.

9. The judges criticize Adam’s outfit choice!

Adam decided to wear a suit and tie during the episode, and Blake attempted to deter potential singers from joining the Maroon 5 star’s team by saying it made him look like a snooty record executive. Adam tried to defend his outfit by pointing out “suits are awesome,” and Blake and Miley ended up agreeing that he looked very handsome. During the last performance, Adam took off his suit jacket when trying to persuade the singer to pick him, which Miley said made him look way cooler and less like an accountant. “I’m the only one that's supposed to take my clothes off on this show,” Miley said. Ain’t that the truth.

10. A returning artist causes a brawl between all four judges!

When Nolan Neal left season 10 without a coach, Adam promised him if he returned and sang a different song, he would pick Nolan. Adam stayed true to this promise and picked up the singer, but the other judges didn’t leave without a fight. Blake tried to deter the singer from picking Alicia and Miley because they’re new to the show, and claimed he’d be an “experimental” pick, while Miley tried brought up her dad to win the contestant over. In the end, Adam was happy, and Miley was left with an “Achy Breaky Heart.”
