“In the ’80s I was on movie sets. I was so focused on films and studying movies and learning about how films are made. I wasn’t really part of that world. I missed that,” Cruise, 49, said at the Rock of Ages premiere in London June 10. “I was living in a different part of the ’80s. To go back and look at it, it was wild.”

A family man at heart, Cruise — who sings “Pour Some Sugar on Me” as Stacee Jaxx in the film — added that “nothing is more important” than his wife Katie Holmes, 33, and his three children: Suri, 6, Connor, 17, and Isabella, 19. “One thing feeds the other, the work and the family,” Cruise said. “I feel very lucky.”
