Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is not happy to have lost yet another football game.
“You know, obviously, in our hearts, we should have come out with a victory, but at the same time, you know, that’s not the reality of things,” Kelce, 37, told The Athletic and other reporters on Sunday, November 1, after losing to the Denver Broncos. “The reality of things is we gotta fix a lot, and the little things — mistakes — it starts with the person that you’re looking [at] in the mirror, and I’m one of them.”
Kelce and his teammates traveled to Empower Field at Mile High in Denver to face off against the Broncos.
Quarterback Bo Nix and his teammates helped erase an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit and take the lead in the final seconds of the game, ending with a 28-24 win. Nix, 26, and the Broncos are now first place in the AFC West.
“I’ve been frustrated with myself on how long I’ve been in the league and the procedural stuff that’s happened for the past three games really, since the bye. It’s frustrating,” Kelce told reporters while wearing Tommy Hilfiger. “You just can’t f***ing do it, and excuse my language. I gotta be better for my teammates, and that sets the tone for a lot of people in this room, and everybody’s just got to up the ante from that.”
The “New Heights” podcast cohost wasn’t completely negative during his postgame chat with reporters.
Kelce praised the Chiefs for showing “a lot of fight” up until the final moments of the game.
“We got a lot of fight and, you know, you got to take the positives out of this,” he shared. “You can’t dwell on it. It’s a pretty good football team.”
For the next week, Kelce and the team will keep their heads in the game and focus on beating the New York Jets at home on Sunday, November 8.
Although Taylor Swift was not in attendance for the Chief’s latest away game, fans are hoping she will be there to cheer on her husband in person in Kansas City.
Since tying the knot with Kelce in July, Swift, 36, has appeared at every Chiefs home game at Arrowhead Stadium. She last attended Kansas City’s 22-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on October 18.
“Football is awesome, it turns out. I’ve been missing out my whole life,” Swift joked to Time in her December 2023 Person of the Year profile. “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads.”
