Wreck-It Ralph was a box office hit in its debut weekend, raking in an impressive $49.1 million after its Nov. 2 debut.
The family-friendly flick features the voice talents of John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch, Jack McBrayer and Sarah Silverman. Wreck-It Ralph gave Disney Animation Studios its best weekend debut of all the time. (The record had been held by Tangled, which opened with $48.8 million in November 2010.)
Flight, starring Denzel Washington and Melissa Leo, debuted in second place with $25 million. Ben Affleck's Argo — which he both directed and starred in — fell to third place in its fourth week with $10.2 million.
The martial arts movie Man With the Iron Fists arrived in fourth place with $8.2 million, while Liam Neeson's Taken 2 earned $6 million for a fifth place finish.
Rounding out the top 10 were Tom Hanks and Halle Berry's Cloud Atlas (No. 6, $5.3 million), Adam Sandler and Selena Gomez's Hotel Transylvania, (No. 7, $4.5 million), Paranormal Activity 4 (No. 8, $4.3 million), Kevin James and Salma Hayek's Here Comes the Boom (No. 9, $3.6 million) and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, $3.3 million (No. 10, $3.3 million).
