The world’s leading dessert mix brand teamed up with Panda Retail Company, the largest grocery chain in the region, to create the record-setting cake on Sunday, September 23. The massive creation, which now holds the Guinness World Record for the largest mosaic made with mug cakes, measured an impressive 112 square-meters and took approximately 19,600 Betty Crocker mug cakes to create.

The huge confection, which was unveiled at Al Andalus Mall in Jeddah, also took 30 bakers almost eight hours to assemble and decorate. In fact, the decorations alone called for 1,900 Betty Crocker cake frosting tubs, which were then used to top the big cake with the Saudi 88th National Day design.

“We are proud to be able to garner a Guinness World Records title for the second year consecutively, and we would like to congratulate the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and all the people of Saudi on their 88th National Day,” said Ali Shaikh, the commercial director of General Mills in the Middle East, via a press release. “The idea of baking the Largest mug cake mosaic marks our appreciation and admiration to the remarkable achievements of the Saudi nation as we are strongly committed to support the dreams and ambitions of the Saudi youth.”

Per the press release, Guinness World Records adjudicator, Ahmed Jamal Jaber, officially confirmed Sunday’s humongous dessert as the largest mug cake mosaic.

Since it would be ridiculous to let all of that food go to waste, the cake was given to visitors at Al Andalus Mall after the record was confirmed. Additional leftovers were also delivered to the Saudi Food Bank, a non-profit organization in the area.

And even though the mug creation was made in Saudi Arabia, the easy-to-make desserts, which come in chocolate, blueberry and brownie flavors, are popular stateside as well. For example, reality star Ali Fedotowsky-Manno enjoyed a mug cake of very own on Monday, September 10. “This mama is INDULGING tonight with my fave show & fave @BettyCrocker #MugTreat,” the former star of The Bachelorette tweeted along with a video clip. “For realz, only takes a minute to make (or for Kevin to make ) & the fudge topping on this brownie is insanely good!”
