Weeknight meal prep just got a whole lot easier thanks to Candace Cameron Bure!

The Fuller House star, who has been a spokesperson for StarKist for more than a year, talked to Us Weekly about the food company’s new line of Chicken Creations pouches, which make snacking and preparing meals incredibly easy.

“I’ve been working with [StarKist] for quite a while now, and they are wonderful because they have great tasting food,” the actress explains. “I’ve been enjoying, for the last few years, the tuna creations pouches and the salmon creation pouches, so it’s exciting that they’ve incorporated chicken into their line of products because StarKist has always been known for their seafood.”

For Cameron Bure, 42, StarKist’s products are perfect for when she’s on the go, at work, or traveling, and she also loves to snack on them post-workout. “The Chicken Creations pouches have been wonderful because they give me a good source of protein and they’re healthy,” she says. “Fitness and health has been very important to me, so all the things that I do for my body as far as working out and fitness, I’ve got to fuel it in the same way and eat high-quality products and feel good from the inside out.”

In addition to keeping her satiated post-workout, the StarKist Chicken Creations pouches also make dinnertime prep quick and stress-free. Though her children – Natasha, 19, Lev, 18, and Maksim, 16, – can now cook for themselves, she still love recipes that are “as simple and easy as possible.”

“Tricks that worked for me as a mom when I do have to cook, and especially when my kids were younger, were to find 5-10 meals that everyone likes. Don’t be afraid to try new things, but when you kind of narrow it down, it’s OK to be consistent,” the former cohost of The View explains. “Know that we have Taco Tuesday, we have Saturday Sushi. And the kids know it, so you’re not stressed out. Once you get through those recipes, make it really simple for yourself and just prepare that particular meal every Monday night, or every Tuesday night. And then your kids will learn how to make it too.”

The Full House alum even has a “five ingredients or less” rule, which is where her Weeknight Buffalo Chicken Taco recipe comes in handy. “I grew up eating tacos,” she says, adding that her family still makes tacos all the time. “Tacos were the easiest thing to make, but the Buffalo chicken recipe is even easier because I don’t even have to cook. They’re made for me!”

And because she is a self-described “L.A. girl” who “can’t go a week without eating a taco,” this recipe is perfect for her and busy parents alike.

In fact, since the recipe is so simple, parents with young children can even have the little ones help out. “It’s an easy thing if you want your kids to help you in the kitchen to make that meal,” she explains.
