Jimmy Fallon was in a generous mood last week! On Monday, August 27, the Tonight Show host and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, went to Il Mulino in Wainscott – a neighborhood in the Hamptons – for dinner, and according to restaurant manager Enzo Lentini, Fallon actually picked up more than his tab that night.

According to Lentini, a table of two middle-aged couples was adjacent to the one at which Fallon, 43, and his wife were having dinner, and the group reportedly contemplated going up to the former Saturday Night Live star. “They were debating. I overheard the conversation when I walked by and they were saying, ‘Should we say hello? Should we let them have dinner and give them some privacy?’”

Though the foursome ultimately decided not to bother Fallon, the actor eventually made his way over to them – and paid for their $1,136 meal. “I didn’t hear the whole conversation when he walked over to them, but from what I did gather I heard him say, ‘I appreciate the fact that you gave us privacy and I want to thank you for that and I wanted to do something nice for you.’”

Lentini adds that Fallon, who typically orders pasta or fish at the upscale Italian restaurant, didn’t make a big deal of his gesture. “They were very sweet about it and they were very nice about it all,” he said. “It just turned out very well.”

The manager also said Fallon and Juvonen, who often frequent Il Mulino, were generous with the waitstaff as well, despite having to be walked through the kitchen due to the restaurant’s busier than normal dining room. “The kitchen crew really got a kick out of it,” he says. “[They are] very generous and usually are 30-40 percent tippers.”
