Lil Xan doesn’t hold anything against Hot Cheetos. The rapper, whose real name is Diego Leanos, was hospitalized after eating a bag of the popular snack food on September Tuesday, September 25, because he began vomiting blood, but apparently that won’t deter him from eating them again.
While out in New York City on Wednesday, September 26, TMZ caught up with Xan and asked him about his hospitalization. “I’m a big Hot Cheeto fan,” the “Betrayed” singer said. “My stomach is still not completely better yet.”
Though Xan said he only ate “one bag” of Hot Cheetos followed by a bag of Chile Limon Cheetos a few days later, apparently that was enough to make him sick. “The next thing I know, for four days I was feeling really bad, like just stomach aches,” he said, noting that it was the Chile Limon Cheetos that made him vomit “a little blood.”
Since the blood-laced vomit scared Xan, that’s when he headed to the hospital via ambulance and had an ultrasound, which confirmed he “tore something up.”
“It was bad,” he added, calling Cheetos “dangerous.”
In an Instagram video shot from his hospital bed on Tuesday, Xan wrote, “Hot Cheetos are one hell of a drug aha.”
A spokesperson for Cheetos maker Frito-Lay told Us Weekly: “At Frito-Lay, we aim to delight our consumers and food safety is always our number one priority. Flamin’ Hot Cheetos meet all applicable food safety regulations, as well as our rigorous quality standards. That said, we realize some consumers may be more sensitive to spicy foods than others and may choose to moderate consumption or avoid spicier snacks due to personal preference.”
Even though Xan admitted his stomach “still hurts,” he eagerly ate a Hot Cheeto when the TMZ photographer handed him a bag of the snack food, telling the camera, “We good, guys.”
