The Oreo family is about to get bigger. Literally. Though it’s nothing new for America’s Favorite Cookie to adopt different, seasonal fillings (hey, Birthday Cake Oreos!) the chocolate creme treats will be soon be larger than ever before.
After weeks of speculation, Oreo’s parent company, Mondelez International, confirmed on Monday, October 22, that a Most Stuf cookie – a confection with even more creme filling than a Double Stuf Oreo – will be hitting supermarket shelves in January 2019.
“You guessed right. We can confirm the Most Stuf Oreo cookie is coming and it’s more playful than ever,” a graphic shared with Today reads. “Our cookies will have more stuf and we’ll be giving away some really great stuff too.” According to the morning show, Most Stuf Oreos will have more than three times the creme found in a classic cookie.
Though the blue and white graphic didn’t divulge additional details about any giveaways, it did add that Oreo fans should “get ready to twist, lick and dunk … and scan your cookie for the chance to win,” before concluding that consumers can expect to see Most Stuf Oreos in “a store near you” at the start of 2019.
Speculation that the largest Oreo ever was on the way began on October 6 when an Instagram account called The Junk Food Aisle shared a leaked product photo of the massive cookie. That photo, which shows an Oreo filled with several layers of creme, has yet to be verified by Mondelez, but it’s clear a new cookie is in the works, regardless.
Alluding to all the chatter about Most Stuf Oreos, the official Oreo Twitter account wrote on Tuesday, October 23, “[Reading our mentions this morning] Guess you all really like Stuf, huh?”
And it appears the cookie maker is onto something. Though not everyone is ready to embrace Most Stuf Oreos, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. “This sounds amazing!!!” one fan tweeted. Another added: “Enough is never enough of The Stuf.”
