Certain food trends are a thing of the past, at least according to these famous faces!
It’s not unusual for a handful of foods to occupy a popular perch in the culinary world (kale still remains well-liked years after stars such as Beyoncé and Jennifer Aniston gave it a boost), but according to a bevy of stars and celebrity chefs Us Weekly spoke to, it’s time to say goodbye to certain trendy eats.
Top Chef judge Gail Simmons, for example, has had enough of the “monster, over-the-top food” that exists solely for the purpose of racking up those likes on social media. “I think sometimes we forget that food should be eaten and not just photographed,” she told Us. “I don’t really believe in putting things together just for the sake of craziness, just for the sake of Instagram.”
Guy Fieri, on the other hand, is over “hating on food and chefs.” As the Mayor of Flavortown sees it, it’s more productive to highlight the “positives of an experience” as opposed to focusing on the negative. “I think we could benefit from a look on the bright side,” he explained.
For actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, avocado toast is a bit overdone these days, but he’s not exactly ready to see it disappear completely. “I don’t want to see it go away, I just don’t think every restaurant needs to put it on the menu,” he told Us.
