Gail Simmons
“I’m over the monster, over-the-top food, like the rainbow unicorn sundae with the cotton candy on top,” the Top Chef judge explained to Us. Instead, the cookbook author wants there to be a “purpose” to everything she consumes. “I want to be able to eat and enjoy it and I can’t really enjoy that stuff,” she added.
However, that sense of purpose is why Simmons has yet to swear off food items like kale and avocado. “Kale is legitimately not a trend, it’s a green. Yes, it’s a little overused and I could do with a little less avocado in my life,” she noted. “But avocado and kale are ingredients, they’re not trends, and they’re here to stay.”
