After goading fans of the Detroit Pistons throughout the team’s first-round playoff series against the Orlando Magic, Angel Reese got a taste of her own medicine after the Pistons’ Game 7 victory.

Pistons fans chanted Reese’s name while the WNBA star’s boyfriend, Wendell Carter Jr., was at the free throw line during the fourth quarter on Sunday, May 3.

Reese’s rumored ex-boyfriend Jalen Duren currently plays for the Pistons.

When the Magic jumped out to a three-games-to-one series lead, Reese shared multiple photos and videos on social media touting the team’s success, including a clip of Magic star Jamal Cain posterizing Duren, 22, with a slam dunk during Game 4.

The Pistons won Sunday’s Game 7 by a score of 116-94, advancing to the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Reese and Carter Jr., 27, have never explicitly stated when their relationship began, but rumors first started swirling when he attended her birthday party in May 2025.

Since then, Reese has routinely repped Magic gear on social media and attended home games in Orlando.

Reese was linked to Duren in 2024. After months of speculation, the pair both posted photos via social media from the same vacation destination during the NBA’s Olympic break.

In January 2025, Reese explained why she was hesitant to go “public” about any of her future relationships.

“I think the next time I’ll post when I’m in a relationship is when I’m married,” said on her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast. “And that’s some time from now. So you ain’t going to see it. You might see me on a date. You’re going to have to catch me, though. I’m not going to post a man on my page.

As for Duren, the NBA star exclusively told Us Weekly in January 2026 that he was single.

“I’m just focusing on myself and my career right now,” Duren said.

Interest in Duren’s dating life hit a fever pitch this season after he showed off his muscles on the cover of SLAM magazine.

“It was crazy, bro,” Duren told Us about the reaction. “I definitely didn’t expect it to blow up as much as it did. God willing, it did. To be on the SLAM cover is a great opportunity. It was a great honor. It definitely caused a lot of attraction and gravity. I don’t know how, but it was cool.”

As for his love life, Duren admitted that it’s not easy to carve out time during the grind of an NBA season.

“It’s hard,” Duren admitted. “The schedule, being in the season, being locked in, trying to have success, team success, that’s always the main goal. … Everything else just kind of gets pushed to the back.”

Game 1 between the Pistons and Cavaliers tips off at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 5.
