They’re one of the most talked-about couples at the intersection of the NFL and Hollywood — and Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld are leaning into their newest chapter with the kind of warmth that makes fans love them even more.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback, 29, spoke to reporters on Monday, April 20, as the team began their voluntary minicamp ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, and he was clearly feeling the glow of new parenthood.
“It definitely changes [your] mindset a little bit,” he said of being a first-time dad. “I’m very excited. I do think this is going to be the best version of myself in all aspects — in my professional career and my personal life. It’s such a blessing.”
Allen and Steinfeld, also 29, announced the birth of their first child, a baby girl, on April 2.
And because he never misses a chance to hype up his wife, Allen made sure to give Steinfeld her flowers during the press conference.
“I’ve got an absolute rockstar of a wife that’s doing so many things right now and allowing me to be here right now and be with my teammates. So yes, special times,” he said.
As for how he’s sleeping with a newborn in the house? “I mean, no,” Allen said. “But I wouldn’t want any other way. It’s very rewarding.”
Hailee Steinfeld’s Substack Gives Fans a Window in to Family Life
Just days before Allen’s press conference, Steinfeld offered her own reflections on this new season of life through her Beau Society Substack, per E! News.
In an April 17 post, she wrote about attending the wedding of Super Bowl champion Sam Darnold and Katie Hoofnagle on April 3 — both “close friends” of the couple.
“We’re getting into the swing of wedding season, huh??” she wrote, leaning into the breezy energy her readers have come to expect.
“This was our first time attending a wedding as husband and wife (and mom and dad!), and everything hit differently,” Steinfeld wrote. “The love in the air felt palpable and reminiscent.”
She added a line that’s practically begging to be screenshotted: “And I actually don’t think there’s anything more fun than being at a wedding with your husband! 10/10 recommend.”
Josh Allen Has Been Candid About Fatherhood
This isn’t the first time Allen has opened up about what becoming a dad means to him. During a January 29 press conference, he gave a glimpse into just how deeply he feels about the role.
“I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife of becoming a dad,” he told reporters. “It’s something that I will take with great pride, and we’re going to have to figure out things on the go just like anything else.”
“This is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, is being a dad,” Allen continued. “I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I’m looking forward to this one.”
He also spoke to the Associated Press about raising his family in the city that’s become home. “It’s where I’ve done a lot of growing up. And it’s a place that I’ll raise a family. It’s really cool,” he said of Buffalo, New York.
And his feelings about this new chapter overall? “Overjoyed, absolutely overjoyed,” he told the AP.
