The crazy story behind NFL quarterback Will Levis’ sex tape is now public knowledge — all thanks to his own mother.
It all started in late May 2024, shortly after Levis’ first and only full season as starting quarterback of the Tennessee Titans.
“I received a phone call from [Will] and I knew immediately — if you’re a parent, you know what I’m talking about — you just know your kids and you know the tenor of their voice,” Will’s mother, Beth Levis, said on the “Ross Tucker Football Podcast” on Monday, May 25.
Beth continued, “As soon as he started talking, my heart immediately sank because I just felt, ‘Oh my gosh, what’s happening? What’s going on?’ I actually was in the car and I ended up pulling over. Come to find out, my son had just found out … There was a very intimate video of he and his ex-girlfriend that had gone viral all over the social media platforms.”
The tape contained footage of Will and his ex-girlfriend Gia Duddy, whom he met during college in early 2021. The couple broke up in September 2023.
“The first words out of Will’s mouth were, ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Mom.’ It just broke my heart,” Beth recalled.
She added, “We’ve worked so hard to instill into our kids a foundation of morals and ethics and preaching integrity and how important it is to represent yourself with your last name, not as just yourself but all of those relatives and your family members. It really hurt Will because he knew this was going to be something that probably a lot of people would see.”
Beth recounted how narratives began building that the sex tape was either leaked by her son or Duddy, which she vehemently denied. In the aftermath, Will decided to solve the case as best he knew how.
“Will actually ended up engaging in hiring a cybersecurity specialist and private investigator and spent an exorbitant amount of money to try to get to the bottom of this,” Beth explained.
In due time, Will found out that the footage had been “stolen.”
“Either his private laptop or digital platform or phone or whatever was actually breached and invaded a year or two earlier when he was in college,” Beth said. “We came to find out this was an Eastern European hacker who is notorious for trying to target what they think might be an attractive couple that they can then expose and do what they do for attention.”
While the sex tape was largely scrubbed from social media by the investigators hired by her son, Beth lamented that “you can never scrape anything entirely from the Internet.”
“It’s there forever. There is a footprint, unfortunately,” she said.
After breaking up with Duddy, Will was in a brief relationship with Bachelor Nation’s Victoria Fuller. The couple broke up in April 2025.
Will missed the entire 2025 season after undergoing shoulder surgery in July 2025. He is expected to compete for the back-up role behind Cam Ward when training camp opens this summer.
