Shocking allegations have been made against golfer Phil Mickelson after the six-time major champion was kicked out of a country club over a misconduct claim.
Journalist Alan Shipnuck spoke to 19 sources for a stunning investigative piece focusing on Mickelson, 56, published by Skratch Golf on Friday, June 26.
The story came on the heels of Mickelson’s exile from The Farms Gold Club outside San Diego earlier this year, after he allegedly made “nonconsensual and inappropriate” contact with a club employee.
According to a report published by Golf Digest on June 11, the club initiated “a review and investigation” of the employee’s allegation before confronting Mickelson and asking him to leave.
“Any misunderstanding has been cleared up,” a representative for Mickelson said regarding the allegation.
Shipnuck, 53, illustrated a history of allegedly lurid behavior by Mickelson, dating back decades. For the most scandalous accusations, keep reading.

Phil Mickelson Allegedly “Groomed” His Childhood Friend’s Wife
Ashley Perez, the ex-wife of Mickelson’s longtime friend Pat Perez, claimed Mickelson began texting her shortly after she and Pat got married in 2014.
“I was so young and innocent,” Ashley recalled. “I’m just this girl from Oklahoma and it’s like, I can’t believe Phil Mickelson wants to be my buddy! And he’s sending me good morning texts!”
Ashley was 27 years old at the time. Mickelson was 44.
“Looking back now, it definitely feels like I was being groomed,” she alleged.
Phil Mickelson Allegedly Showed His Friend’s Wife a Naked Selfie
Ashley claimed that in 2015, Mickelson showed her “a full-body picture of himself naked with an erection while flexing one bicep” on his phone when her husband, Pat, excused himself to use the bathroom.
“Phil says to me, ‘I’m going to leave my bedroom door open tonight. When Pat falls asleep I want you to come see me,” Ashley claimed.
Mickelson has been married to his wife, Amy, since 1996.

Ashley saved a recording of a phone call Mickelson allegedly made to her husband after Ashley says she told him about the photo.
“I can’t tell you how disgusted and embarrassed I am in myself,” Mickelson said on the call, which Ashley played for Shipnuck.
Phil Mickelson Is Accused of “Verbal Rape” During Bizarre Dinner
A woman who attended a group dinner with Mickelson around 2015 recalled his allegedly alarming behavior.
“Something felt off,” the woman said. “He was behaving a little odd. Out of nowhere, Phil started asking the most inappropriate questions about my personal life and then propositioning me in graphic detail. He went on and on about how he had been fantasizing about me and all the things he wanted to do to me. It was incredibly awkward.”
The woman claimed people at the table tried to “change the subject,” but Mickelson was “relentless.”
“The more wine he drank the louder he got,” he said. “There was a family at the table next to us and I have no idea what they heard. It was horrible – I was sweating profusely. It felt like verbal rape.”
The woman added, “It’s shocking that he would try to take advantage of a friendship like that. It was very disorienting. You think you know someone and then they turn out to be a completely different person.”
Phil Mickelson Once Mimicked Sex Acts at Group Dinner
During that same era, Ashley recalled Mickelson allegedly acting similarly unbecoming at a dinner with herself, her husband, Mickelson’s agent and others.
“The conversation turned very dark and sexual because Phil kept taking it there,” Ashley claimed. “He was using two fingers to graphically demonstrate some of his techniques to me.”
She added, “It was incredibly inappropriate — we were at a nice restaurant with a lot of people at the table.”
Phil Mickelson Allegedly Paid Club Employees to Help Him Cheat on His Wife
After becoming an honorary member of The Bridges golf club — located nearby the Mickelson family home in Rancho Santa Fe, California — Mickelson became friends with an individual who owned a mansion overlooking the course.
“Phil would give his phone to a young man in the pro shop and pay him $500 to drive around the course for three or four hours,” a Bridges member claimed. “Amy was tracking his phone; that way, she would think he was out on the golf course. That gave Phil the time to sneak over to this guy’s house and have his secret rendezvous.”
Another member alleged, “It wasn’t just employees [Mickelson] gave his phone to, it was also members. He’d be like, ‘Hey, if it’s okay I’m gonna put my phone in your cart, I’ll catch up with you on the back nine.’”
Mickelson’s attorney, Tom Clare, provided a lengthy statement to Skratch Golf in response to the myriad of accusations against the golfer.
“Some of the allegations circulating about Mr. Mickelson are false, and others revisit mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately,” Clare said. “Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible. It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative. No person, no article, and no book can present an accurate, complete, or personal story of the life Mr. Mickelson and his family have lived. His story, struggles, and recovery belong to him and to the people who have shared it closely alongside him.”
Mickelson’s lawyer continued, “Recovery is not a straight line. Throughout their 35-year relationship, his wife, Amy Mickelson, has supported Mr. Mickelson and their family with extraordinary grace, unwavering love, and the belief that people are measured not only by their failures, but by what they do to make them right. Mr. Mickelson’s priority is to become the husband, father, and man his family deserves. Right now, that means giving his full attention to a private family health matter. He understands that parts of his life are public, but his family’s private matters are not.”
