Ariana Grande Is Unrecognizable With Long Blonde Hair and Freckles on the New ‘British Vogue’ Cover

Is that you, Ariana Grande? The “No Tears Left To Cry” singer stars on the cover of the July 2018 British Vogue, and the pop princess is hardly recognizable in the photograph by Craig McDean. Rocking a look that is entirely different from how we are used to seeing her, the songstress sports long, honey blonde locks that fall freely down her back and minimal makeup in the snap.

Styled by Kate Phelan in a Chanel fall/winter 2018 lace dress with chain straps, Ariana’s go-to mane man Chris Appleton swapped the singer’s usual sky-high ponytail for a cascade of loose waves. While Grande has tried platinum tresses in the past, we’ve never seen her try this multi-dimensional blonde before. Appleton posted a pic of the singer from the shoot on his Instagram feed with the caption, “simply stunning in so many ways.”

When it came to her makeup, artist Mark Carrasquillo kept things simple and monochromatic. Saying so-long to the fluttery falsies we are used to seeing on Ariana, he left her lashes bare and brows lightly filled in. He did, however, add a smattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose and tops of her cheeks, before finishing off the sun-kissed look with a her-lips-but-better rosy pink hue.

While Ariana had kept a low-profile much of the last year, she’s recently been back and better than ever to promote her new music. She wore a stunning Sistine Chapel-inspired Vera Wang gown to the 2018 Met Gala (her first appearance at the annual fashion fete) and crushed it on stage at the 2018 iHeartRadio’s KISS FM Wango Tango by AT&T with her signature brunette ponytail and sexy style.

In the mag, Ariana opens up about the anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder-like symptoms she dealt with in the aftermath of the May 2017 bombing at her concert in Manchester, England. While she said she still struggles to make sense of what happened, she considers the last year one that “changed everything.”
