Cue the Eminem—she’s cleaned out her closet!
Getting into the giving spirit early, Ashley Benson enlisted her stylist and friend, Jamie Schneider, to help her go through her closet and choose what should stay and what should be donated to charity. Plus, when the style pro was all done, she helped the Pretty Little Liars actress curate a holiday wish list—and Benson’s sharing it with you!
“I was excited to make room for new pieces—and to get rid of a ton of the jeans, graphic T-shirts, and clothes I used to wear on the PLL set,” Benson, 24, exclusively told Us Weekly.
And Schneider was just as excited to help. “We really defined what Ashley’s style is and what it should be, and we got rid of anything that did not fall within those guidelines,” Schneider explained. “Beginning a closet cleanout with a clear vision of your style is key, so you don’t have to agonize over what to toss and what to keep.”
With those rules in place, the pair went through Benson’s entire closet, tossing anything she hadn’t worn within the last year. “One year gives you a full season to wear something. It’s a good way to discover what you truly like and don’t like in your closet,” Schneider told Us.
By the end, Benson had 25 bags of clothing on her hands, which she donated to Goodwill. Schneider then took the remaining pieces, put them all on a fresh set of hangers, and color-coordinated them so that the actress’ wardrobe would be clean, pretty, and easy to navigate.
Of course, Benson couldn’t part with that much clothing without acquiring a few new pieces! That’s why she partnered with Shop-Hers.com, for which she created a holiday wish list of covetable style staples, some of which she’s already popped into her closet. (We see you, red Chanel purse!)
Also on her wish list: Pointed-toe Manolo Blahnik slipper flats ($185), a yellow Isabel Marant sweater ($175), and a Monique Lhuillier jumpsuit ($185), and more. See Benson’s complete holiday wish list at Shop-Hers.com.
