Dripping in diamonds! Camila Coelho stepped out on the red carpet on the opening night of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival on May 8 in a mega-glam black gown and over 80 carats of bling. The look made quite the sartorial statement, but that’s not all: this outfit rang in at a whopping one million dollars!

The 30-year-old global beauty and fashion influencer rocked a custom, haute couture bodycon velvet minidress with asymmetrical 7-foot-long silk organza ruffle train designed by Ralph & Russo, the British fashion house rumored to be designing royal-to-be Meghan Markle’s bridal gown for her wedding to Prince Harry on May 19 in Windsor, England. To top off the dress (which Coelho tells Us took 500 hours to create): Messika’s 79 carat ‘Love Knot’ necklace, plus rings and earrings by the brand. In an exclusive interview with Stylish, the style star (who happens to have 7.1 Instagram followers) spills her inspiration for the look, the cheap chic drugstore makeup she wore and the unlikely wardrobe item she’d love to accessorize with diamonds!

Stylish: What inspired this fabulous look?

Coelho: When creating a piece with a brand it’s all about team work — creating something that is you but still keeping with the brand’s DNA! I knew I wanted a black dress, with a voluminous skirt, something strong but still feminine. Tamara and Ralph, who are so immensely talented, captured my vision and truly brought it to life with an amazing piece of couture I’ll cherish forever. Their team spent 500 hours from concept to creation!

Stylish: When did you choose it?

Coelho: The moment we confirmed Cannes. I’ve always wanted to wear Ralph & Russo on a carpet, especially after I closed their last couture show, as a Bride!

Stylish: Tell Us about the jewels!

Coelho: First of all, I love the Messika story. Valerie Messika did not grow up playing with toys like most young girls, instead she played with diamonds that her father, a key player in the diamond trade, brought home from work. I love how the pieces really speak to my style, I literally wanted everything when I went to their showroom! The ‘Safety Pin’ chokers are on my current wish list!

Stylish: What was the least expensive part of the look?

Coelho: My full makeup was done with L’Oreal products! We went for a smoky eye, highlighted skin and nude lips. I love the shine lipstick in Dazzling Doe — it’s such a beautiful and versatile color for everyday — and the Glow Mon Amour highlighting drops, which give you an AMAZING natural glow!!!

Stylish: Do you have a fantasy outfit you’d love to wear with a ton of diamonds?

Coelho: I could wear diamonds in my pajamas — haha!
