How We Met: We met on New Year's eve 2002 when my girlfriend and I were party hoping and ended up at an event that Dwight happened to be promoting. My best friend had a little too much to drink, and tripped on the dance floor. As Dwight and I were picking her up, our eyes caught each other. I think we both heard angels seeing as we gazed at each other. We made sure my friend was OK then forgot about her and talked all night. We exchanged numbers and have been joined at the hip ever since.
Our Dream Wedding: We'd love to get married in downtown New Orleans!
Obstacles We Overcame: We overcame a huge ordeal with Hurricane Katrina. It was the most stessful time of our lives. Dwight and I moved to Georgia in 2004, a year before the storm, but our parents and grandparents were still residents of New Orleans. When Katrina flooded the city of New Orleans, Dwights parents were able to evacuate to Monroe, LA. and my parents went to Natchez, MS. It wasn't until after a week of no communication with them that we found out that everyone was safe. They did not have any communication up across the Gulf Coast at that time. Phone lines and cell phones were down and my parents were not computer literate. That week, our world was lost. Not knowing if your parents are even alive was the worst feeling in the world. We brought our families to our home in Georgia and at one point had eight people living our home at once. There was alot of sadness and depression that set in for six months after. Our parents homes, schools, churches, and jobs were destroyed with no way of knowing how to get them back for a life of normalcy. Dwight and I almost called it quits but we were a stronger force together that apart. If we survived that… we could survive anything.
Our Fave Celeb Wedding: My favorite celeb wedding so far was Donald Trump's last wedding… mainly because of the cake and Melania's dress.
Why You Should Pick Us: We work hard everyday and are not always able to spend money like we want. We have big families and an abundant amount of family and friends we would like to share our union with but it takes alot of money to do that. Money we don't have. We have been putting in overtime at our jobs to get more money, and that means less time at home with each other. We would love not to be stressed and relax at home with each other enjoying our engagement.
