Mary Poppins — ahem, Emily Blunt — is thinking pink! The actress was in London on Wednesday, December 12, for the European premiere of her new film Mary Poppins Returns, and while her satin Schiaparelli gown perfectly matched the cobalt carpet, her makeup was an unexpected mix of rosy hues that was nothing short of supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Celeb makeup artist Jenn Streicher used Chantecaille products to craft what she described as a “warm monochromatic look with pink tones that enhanced her face and eye color and complemented the gorgeous royal blue Schiaparelli dress.”

After prepping her skin with the brand’s Gold Eye Recovery Masks and moisturizing Magnolia Jasmine and Lily Healing Emulsion, she evened out the British beauty’s complexion by blending two shades (Ivory and Porcelain) of the Future Skin Foundation and spot treating with the Le Camouflage Stylo concealer.

From there, it was time to make the star pretty in pink. For a pop of color on the cheek, Streicher first applied the Cheek Gelée in Happy (a rose) to the apples before highlighting the cheekbone with the Philanthropy Cheek Shade in Emotion (a golden coral).

And because this look was all about monochrome, the makeup pro creatively used the Chantecaille Lip Veil in Honeypot (a nude pink) on both the lids and mouth for continuity.

“I wanted the eye and the lips to be the same shade with just a wash of color on both,” Streicher shared. To ensure the lip color stayed in place on Blunt’s pretty blue peepers, she mixed it with the Mermaid Eye Color in Starfish (a warm mauve). A coat of the Faux Cils Longest Lash Mascara provided a flirty fringe, and the Full Brow Gel in Dark further defined the eyes.

For a blurred lines effect on the pout, the artist applied the Lip Veil in Honeypot directly to the lips with the bullet and then also dabbed on a bit more color with her finger for a stain-like finish.

Et voilà! Blunt proved that the traditionally warm-weather hue can, in fact, be used all year long for what Streicher describes as a “soft and beautiful” makeup look that is anything but boring.
