Alex Rodriguez Carries a Photo of His Daughters Everywhere He Goes — See What Else Is in His Bag (Exclusive)

Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez only keeps the essentials in his bag.

A-Rod, 50, exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about everything he keeps in his Dagne Dover bag, from sentimental items to the necessities.

One thing he doesn’t leave home without is a photo of his daughters, Natasha and Ella, whom he shares with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.

While gushing over his little ones, the Yankees star told Us that his ideal Father’s Day is to “wake up, do like a workout class [with his] girls,” and then go out for brunch.

A Photo of His Daughters

“First thing I have is I always travel with is a picture of my girls,” Rodriguez said, holding up a photo of them. “That was my last game I played at Yankee Stadium.”

Optics

When he’s broadcasting, Rodriguez always makes sure his Look Optic Glasses are on him.

“One of the things you have to do is you have to keep score, so that means that every pitch you’re basically documenting, and when you’re broadcasting, it’s always a great exercise to document each pitch, so you’re in the flow of the game,” he explained. “And then when that person comes to bat the second or third time, you have the history of what they did, so it’s always good.” He noted that the optics help him “watch the game” and “look down and read.”

Headphones

“These are very important, because I listen to a lot of music, I listen to a lot of podcasts, and sometimes you gotta get on some conference calls, and if you’re in public, it’s always good to have these,” he said of his headphones.

As for the music Rodriguez is listening to, he shared he’s a big fan of Jay-Z. “I’m kind of fired up about Jay-Z, because he’s coming back to tour this summer, and he’s gonna do it at my old office at Yankee Stadium, which is gonna be pretty awesome,” he said.

Mints

Rodriguez’s mint of choice is Tic Tacs. “They’re the best, and I usually have a little trick, I [take out] four or five, I take one and then put like four or five in my pocket,” he shared.

A Notebook

A-Rod is always prepared to write down a good idea, which he joked only happens “every three years.”

“I want to make sure that I write it down,” he said. “I have my WNBA little notebook, and I just write notes all the time,” he added, noting that he doesn’t journal — yet.

Sunflower Seeds

Sunflower seeds are on the essential list for A-Rod, who said, “You cannot go into Yankee Stadium and not have sunflower seeds.”

“Baseball players, we’re superstitious, so sunflower seeds, we throw them in, throw them out. It’s kind of cool,” he said of the trend.

Charger

“You never leave home without a charger, because there’s nothing worse to run out of battery, and then you can basically become homeless very quickly,” Rodriguez joked to Us. He also said that an “extra long” charger is “key” to have on deck when traveling with his phone.
