Fit model Sarah Stage is still on her mission to shut her haters and naysayers down once and for all. Less than a week after giving birth to her baby boy, James Hunter, the 30-year-old knockout took to Instagram to show off her unbelievably slim post-baby body.
"4 days post baby. Total pregnancy weight gain was 28 pounds. I'm excited to resume my workouts in 5 weeks!! #JamesHunter #HealthyBaby #GrannyPanties," she captioned the shot. The mirrored selfie featured the model in a leopard print bra with black underwear and holding up her teddy bear cell phone case. Stage's waistline appears to have slimmed down considerably, and her debate-sparking abs are even visible.
On April 13, a nine-months-pregnant Stage shared a snap, dressed in black lingerie, with her baby bump on display. "Still waiting #9months" she captioned the shot via Instagram.
The model's son was born on April 14, weighing 8.7 pounds at 22 inches long. She took to Instagram with a shot of the little guy, swaddled in an orange and cream fox-inspired crochet getup. "James Hunter (4/14/15/) 8.7lbs/22inches of HEALTHY baby! Thank you for the positive support throughout my journey…It's just beginning!!! #JamesHunter #Healthy!" she captioned the adorable pic of her son, midway through a yawn.
While presenting almost daily updates online throughout her pregnancy in barely there lingerie, Stage caused an uproar among people who claimed she was too skinny to deliver a healthy baby. In March 2015, Stage appeared on Good Morning America to address the criticism of her toned physique. "As long as the baby is healthy I don't think anything else matters," she said. "That should be the most important thing."
While she received a large influx of criticism, there were also compliments and well-wishes in the bunch. "Hope I look like this when I'm 8 months pregnant," one Instagram user wrote.
Dr. Jennifer Ashton, ABC News' medical contributor, said that Stage’s 20-pound weight gain at that point was completely fine. An average healthy pregnancy is between 25-35 pounds of weight gain and, with a total gain of 28 pounds, Stage ended up in the middle. "The fact that she looks skinny on Instagram does not mean her baby growth is restricted or too small," she told GMA. "It has nothing to do with if you can see her muscles, if her uterus is the perfect size, and she has gained an amount of weight that is acceptable."
