The Goop entrepreneur, 44, who received the Icon Award at the ceremony, turned heads in the number made of black tulle, velvet and beaded plissé sleeves. Its skirt featured waist-length pleats all over that showed Paltrow’s briefs and Jimmy Choo platform sandals. But the standout detail was the enormous velvet rose embroidered on the front of the dress, complete with a green stem. Ruby-red drop earrings and a few jewel bangles by Tous were the brand spokesmodel’s accessories.
Even though the mom of two just turned 44 in September, she’s proved that age ain’t nothing but a number all throughout fall 2016. To celebrate her birthday on September 27, she posted a makeup-free selfie on Instagram. “#nomakeup for my 44th birthday, embracing my past and future,” she wrote. “Thank you for the instalove.” And for Harper Bazaar’s November 2016 issue, the Oscar winner modeled a racy Eres bikini and Saint Laurent blazer while posing it up in a supermarket.
“My daughter [Apple, 12] is super ballsy,” Paltrow revealed in her cover story. “I always follow her lead. I actually don’t need to encourage her to take risks. She likes to push herself; she wants to see how far she can get. It’s really inspiring to see that in a young woman.”
