Oooh-la-Lopez! Just three days after turning 47, Jennifer Lopez has another reason to celebrate. The “Ain’t Your Mama” singer is teaming up with celeb-loved shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti for a capsule collection of shoes and jewelry, the brand announced on Wednesday, July 27. Giuseppe for Jennifer Lopez will launch in January 2017, hitting the shelves of Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Giuseppe Zanotti Design stores and on giuseppezanottidesign.com.
“I think it goes without saying that like every other girl, I love a killer pair of shoes,” Lopez said in a release. “Whether I’m walking the red carpet or dressed casually, the right shoes complete my outfit to make me feel beautiful, sexy and fearless. The collection Giuseppe and I have created is everything you would expect from the both of us — bad-ass high heels with shapes that are fierce and of course have some sparkle!”
Though images of the collection haven’t been released yet, some of the works in progress were displayed in a teaser video. Strappy animal-print gladiators, platform pumps, studded booties and, yes, sandals drenched with crystals will be part of the collection that ranges from $795 to $1,995. Giuseppe x Jennifer will also include a palette of dreamy pastels, cool grays and warm beiges along with two styles of leather handbags with artful detailing, according to the release.
“I’ve always been inspired by Jennifer and love the way she looks in my shoes — it was a natural evolution to collaborate together,” Zanotti continued in the release. “The collection, like Jennifer, is sensual, sophisticated, modern but also playful with a bit of edge.”
It’s been a banner year for the Italian shoe designer, 59. In April, the brand announced a new collection for stylish tots, Giuseppe Junior, after years of creating kicks for Blue Ivy Carter, North West and more. Ciara’s 2-year-old son, Future Jr., wore a custom-made pair of white leather sneakers with silver metal hardware from the brand for Mom’s July 6 nuptials to Russell Wilson in Cheshire, England. Not to be outdone, Ciara also wore white satin Giuseppe Zanotti Design sandals with a lace ankle strap beneath her Roberto Cavalli Couture gown.
