Getting her kicks! Jessica Simpson announced that she’s expanding her athleisure line, the Warm Up, into performance footwear on Wednesday, August 10.
The sneakers, which come in a wide array of bright colors and animal prints, will retail from $69 to $89 at Macy’s stores and online at macys.com and jessicasimpson.com. The kicks will be available come the fall, and Simpson says they’re perfect for hitting up happy hour, post sweat session.
“I don’t always have time to do a quick change from a workout to playing with my kids to going out to lunch or approval meetings,” the mom of two told Extra of her busy schedule. “So being able to create active apparel and sneaker styles that work both at the gym and on the go fits well for my lifestyle and my collection.”
Though the “Angels” singer is typically dressed to the nines on dinner dates with her husband of two years, Eric Johnson, she understands the importance of comfy clothes, too. “Now that I’m a mom, I realize you kind of wear athletic gear everywhere,” she said in her September cover story for Women’s Health.
Simpson launched the activewear division of her style brand in November 2015 through Macy’s with playful zip-ups, leggings and sports bras that complement women’s bodies. “It’s important to make a woman feel beautiful, even when she’s working out,” she explained to Women’s Health. “We do a lot of high-waisted things so women feel tucked in and don’t worry about what they look like.”
