Kate Gosselin is glowing these days — literally!

Despite the single mom's attempt to look younger with Botox treatments, the over-the-top orange tan she's been sporting lately makes her appear much older than her 35 years, experts tell UsMagazine.com.

"When you go spray tan on your face too dark, it ages you. She looks super old here. She looks 40-something!" Fabiola Trujillo, owner of Sobe Tan by Fabiola in Miami Beach, tells Us. "I mean, Dancing With the Stars is over, right? No more orange!"

Explains Trujillo: "When you go darker on your face, your wrinkles look definitely more pronounced." She points out her emphasized frown and laugh lines.

Even worse: Board-certified dermatologist Joel Schlessinger says Gosselin is setting a "bad example" for her eight kids by glamorizing tanning, even if it's fake, because melanoma is so deadly. "It's sad to see people still going for that orange, fake look," he says.

Schlessinger (who is also the president of LovelySkin.com) suggests that Gosselin may be hooked on tanning. Indeed, sources have told Us the reality star requested an "extra dark" glow while competing on DWTS, and she even ditched her sextuplets to hit the tanning salon on their 5th birthday — also Mother's Day.

"There's an addiction in tanning," he says. "Definitely, it's amazing what a spray tan can do: It makes you look younger, all your flaws on your skin go away, you look slimmer… But you've got to be careful and not overdo it. My advice would be to drop it, cold turkey!"

Trujillo points out that Gosselin is pale and "Fair-skinned [people] have to be very careful with what amount of spray tan they get on their skin, because we can get orange very easily."

Her suggestion to avoid looking like an oompa loompa: Exfoliate the old tan before applying new product.

Jordan Stein, the retail manager of Bliss spas (Kate Hudson and Liv Tyler are fans), defends Gosselin for opting to spray tan instead of fake bake.

"Kate is not a tanorexic — her intention was to get a safe, natural looking tan. The results were less than perfect," he tells Us. "She is trying to promote the only healthy, tanning alternative."
