She can’t resist that blonde! To celebrate the launch of her husband Kanye West‘s third Yeezy collection on Thursday, February 11, Kim Kardashian stepped out with a brand-new hairstyle: long, platinum tresses.
To pull off the dramatic makeover, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, turned to her half-sister Kylie Jenner‘s go-to wig man, Tokyo Stylez, who crafted the white-hot style. No wonder, as the stylist has a gift for making wigs look natural.

“It’s all about measurements,” Stylez, whose wigs range from $650 to $4,000, has said. “You have your measurements before, and it’s all pretty much fitted before you get there, so it’s just a bit of clipping here and there for the perfect fit in the back and on the sides. I normally cut the front of the wig to make it look as natural as possible.”

The eye-popping ‘do added even more drama to Kardashian’s ensemble — a custom-made plunging bodysuit and fringed skirt. The Balmain for Yeezy pieces were made by Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing, who also crafted looks for little North, Khloé, Kourtney, Kylie, Kendall, Kris and Caitlyn. According to Kim, “@olivier_rousteing made it happen in 5 days!!!” (Lamar Odom also enjoyed a front-row seat, marking his first appearance since being hospitalized last October; however, the Wests kept their 2-month-old son, Saint, at home.)
This isn’t the first time Kardashian has embraced her blonde ambition. She first experimented with the shade by adding sun-kissed highlights at the Teen Choice Awards in 2009. Then from late 2013 to mid-2014, she rocked a shoulder-length honey hue. And just last spring, she hit Paris Fashion Week with a platinum bob.

But if you’re worried that such drastic changes in color will ruin your strands, Stylez says that a wig is the way to go. “You don’t have to worry about your real hair — you can keep it healthy, and you can keep it growing,” he explained. “The idea of wigs is growing on young people because wigs can look even better than your real hair.”
