Chopped! Kirsten Dunst snipped inches from her lob hairstyle to debut a blunt bob at Elle‘s 6th Women in Television dinner at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood on Wednesday, January 20.

The Fargo actress, 33, styled her shortened blonde tresses into beachy waves, which added more youthful effervescence to her semi-sheer Marc Jacobs dress with floral cutouts. Diamond statement jewels and Olgana sandals completed the red carpet ensemble.

“We’d been talking about going shorter for a while and felt it was the right time,” Dunst’s stylist, Cervando Maldonado, exclusively told Us Weekly. “I took about two inches off and cut it blunt because it accentuates her face and is a cool, fresh look.”

Adding a pop of color to her sultry look, Dunst — who’s been dating Garrett Hedlund since they met on the set of On the Road in 2012 — modeled blushed cheeks and a bubblegum-pink lip.

The Marie Antoinette actress has had a very busy awards season. Her role on the critically acclaimed Fargo has scored her multiple acting nominations, including the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Movie/Miniseries, which she won on January 17. She’s also been nominated for a Golden Globe (which she lost to Lady Gaga) and a Satellite Award (the ceremony is upcoming).
