Chopping it off! Kristen Wiig got a fresh blonde pixie ahead of her hosting duties on the November 19 episode of Saturday Night Live.
The Ghostbusters star, 43, who just rocked a chin-length, wispy dark blonde bob one month ago, debuted her new haircut just as one should: during the Mannequin Challenge alongside the SNL cast in a Wednesday, November 15, Twitter promotional video. Wiig, who left the show in 2012 and returned to host in 2013, stood still as the camera panned around her, showcasing the closely cropped style.
Wiig has proven that she isn’t afraid of switching up her style. In June, the Bridesmaids star hit an Elle magazine event with shoulder-length, wavy brunette locks. She went shorter and lighter by the time July hit, swapping her darker hair for a honey brown. At September’s Masterminds premiere, Wiig chopped off a few more inches for a chin-length style.
Luckily, Wiig is used to sitting in the chair for the sake of beauty. While promoting Zoolander 2 in February, the actress, who played Alexanya Atoz, revealed that getting into character took nearly six hours each day. ”It was about four [hours] just for the face and then hair was like an hour and half or so,” she told E! News. “The worst part was that it took almost two hours to get off. It would be the end of the day and everyone’s going home and I’m like, ‘I’ll be there in two hours!” because they have to scrape it.”
