What, this old thing? Miranda Kerr gave Us all a good look at her whopping diamond engagement ring on Monday, August 29, via Snapchat.
The Australian supermodel, 33, popped on the app’s butterfly crown filter and snapped a selfie, which showcased her radiant complexion, her sun-kissed curls and, yes, her eye-popping bauble — a gift from her love, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel. The ring features a sizable center stone, flanked on each side by a tapered diamond baguette and set in what appears to be either white gold or platinum. (She also shared the pic via Instagram.)
As Us Weekly previously reported, the Kora Organics founder accepted the 26-year-old tech genius’ proposal on Wednesday, July 20. The couple announced the exciting news via — what else? — Snapchat with a close-up shot of Kerr’s ring, a cartoon re-creation of Spiegel proposing and the words “Marry Me!”
Kerr, who shares one son, Flynn, 5, with ex-husband Orlando Bloom, also posted the pic to Instagram and added, “I said yes!!! ❤️😍❤️😍❤️”
Jewelry expert Michael O’Connor told Us of her bling, “Miranda’s ring is the quintessence of classic style and understatement. It’s a round diamond of about 2.5 carats. The value of the ring would be approximately $55,000.”
O’Connor added, “Despite the reported billions Spiegel’s worth, the couple decided on a timeless style that proves they ‘don’t need to try.’ After so many over-the-top rings, this understated, more meaningful ring may be the newest — and best! — we’ve seen in a while.”
