Taking Manhattan: The England born, NYC-based team behind must-have label Marchesa – which counts Penelope Cruz, Blake Lively and Demi Moore as devotees – finds their own wardrobe inspiration in the city that never sleeps. "In New York you are influenced by so many different elements and styles it’s hard not to be adventurous when it comes to the way you dress,"says Chapman, who calls her style "eclectic yet feminine."
Autumn essentials: Though Marchesa designs can cost thousands, Craig isn't afraid to mix high and low. Her most recent acquisition: A cardigan from the new Missoni for Target line. "But my next purchase will definitely be a pair of daffodil Louboutins in classic black suede," she says. Chapman just picked up a pair of Tabitha Simmons pointy toe flats.
Best buys: The duo call luxe department store Bergdorf Goodman "a must-stop shop," but they also love browsing local flea markets and vintage boutiques. "No matter what I am shopping for, I always look for items that are timeless as well as modern," says Chapman. And for jewelry? "It has to be either Lorraine Schwartz or Miriam Haskell," says Craig.
Style icons: Both Chapman and Craig cite the Marchesa Luisa Casati, a 20th century eccentric Italian heiress, as a fashion idol, as well as the late Isabella Blow.
