Name: Victor Rasuk
Just for kicks: The Harlem native — who stars on How to Make It In America — has a sneaker obsession that has grown as steadily as his stardom. "My shoe collection went from being okay to gangsta since I joined the show," Rasuk says of the HBO hit, which returns this October. His favorite pair? "My number 3 Jordans are the most magical shoes ever. Back in the day, there was a dunk contest and Michael Jordan jumped from the free throw line with those shoes on. I'm still kind of under the spell of that time when I was 10 and I watched Michael Jordan jump or leap or fly."
Girl power: Rasuk calls his signature style "contemporary, ghetto elegant, yet fabulous," but he didn't always have control over his clothing. "When I was younger, I always had a lot of women in my life — cousins, aunts, my mom. For a long time, they would piece my outfits together, like 'the girls will like this, you should wear this. Put this on.' When I got old enough I said 'you don't have to dress me anymore!'" These days, the actor is "a T-shirt and jeans kind of guy" who favors APC, Armani and Kenneth Cole.
Dapper dudes: "I love Benicio del Toro's style. I love how he'll come out one day and look like he's homeless, then he'll put on something and clean up. You can tell the dude knows how to dress," says Rasuk, who's also inspired by the threads of Cary Grant and fellow honoree Pharrell Williams. My style is not consistent — it depends how I feel.
QUOTE: "I always wear a NY Yankees cap. I go through one every six months. I'm probably on my third month now."
