Giving mom a run for her money! Blue Ivy Carter upstaged her superstar mom, Beyoncé, in a dress that cost nearly $11,000 at the MTV Video Music Awards 2016 on Sunday, August 28, in New York City.
The stylish tot, 4, looked like a princess in a Mischka Aoki The Grand Royalle dress that featured an asymmetrical, layered tulle skirt and a gleaming gold metallic laser-cut bodice. The playful hem gave Blue plenty of room to display her cool kicks: a $565 pair of Giuseppe Zanotti Junior Dolly Blush Leather High-Top Sneakers with a Crystal Bar. And she wouldn’t be the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay Z without rocking some diamonds from the family’s favorite jeweler, Lorraine Schwartz. Like the royalty that she is, Blue Ivy wore a sparkling tiara to complement her two long, center-parted cornrows.
Beyoncé also sparkled ahead of the show. The “Lemonade” singer, who took home eight Moonmen for her historic visual album, was angelic in a seafoam Francesco Scognamiglio Couture gown topped with coordinating feathered wings. Her Jimmy Choo shoes were visible underneath the dress’s slightly sheer skirt. Like Blue, she turned to Lorraine Schwartz for sparkle, totaling over $12.3 million: $1.8 million Colombian emerald, intense pink diamond and paraiba earrings; a $9 million, 12-carat fancy pink diamond ring; a $1.5 million 20-carat wraparound diamond ring; a marquise, pear-shape diamond ring worth $280,000; and a $600,000 7-carat oval pinky ring.
